Travel information

Tampere is well connected and really easy to reach. There are frequent direct flights each day from Copenhagen, Stockholm, Riga, London/Stansted, Frankfurt/Hahn, Bremen, Edinburgh, Milan/Bergamo, Kaunas and Malaga to the Tampere-Pirkkala International Airport. It is also possible to fly to Tampere via Helsinki.

Tampere Airport is located at Pirkkala, 17 kilometres southwest from the city centre. A taxi to/from the centre costs approximately 30 euros, somewhat more on weekends and at night. Bus journey to from the city centre takes approx. 40 minutes and costs 4,40e/one way.

By bus or train from Helsinki airport
There is a direct and inexpensive bus connection to Tampere from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Buses leave at regular intervals at all hours.

You can also catch the fast Pendolino train from Tikkurila train station to Tampere. The journey only takes 1 hour 10 min. There is a shuttle bus from Helsinki airport to Tikkurila train station.

Accommodation

Tampere has a wide variety of accommodation available, from modern first-class hotels to comfortable hostels. The majority of hotels are located in the city centre, within walking distance of conference venue.

A number of rooms have been reserved for the conference in the following five hotels and hostels. To secure accommodation of your choice, you should register as early as possible.
